Research Abstract |
This study demonstrates that the enzymatic hydrolysis of cellulose is drastically enhanced following ultrasonic pretreatment of lignocellulosic material in ionic liquids when compared to conventional thermal pretreatment. Moreover, chorine acetate was most effective among the ionic liquid tested.
