Research Abstract |
In order to study the turbulent transport phenomena in three-dimensional magnetic confined plasmas such as Large Helical Device (LHD), we performed gyrokinetic turbulent transport simulations. A new gyrokinetic code, GKV-X, which includes geometry of three dimensional field, were developed. Using the GKV-X, we perfomed the ion temperature gradient (ITG) turbulence simualations in high-ion temperature LHD plasmas. The GKV-X simulations reproduced the transport levels and turbulent fluctuation spectra observed in the experiment. Furthermore, based on the simualtions, a new reduced model for ITG turbulent transport in helical plasmas were constructed.
