Research Abstract |
Cortisol is a major hormone and known to have multiple effects and also known to be an osomoregulatory hormone in teleosts. However, how fish tissues discriminate between these distinct corticosteroid actions is not clearly understood. The present study showed that levels of cortisol appeared to be locally regulated to the optimal levels by the action of steroidogenic enzymes.
