Research Abstract |
We investigated the regulatory mechanisms of proplastid division usingmeristematic tissues of Arabidopsis. Our results showed that terminal plastid phenotypes critically differbetween proplastids and chloroplasts in several plastid division mutants. Furthermore, proplastids couldreplicate themselves with unknown mechanisms upon defects in the plastid division apparatus
