Research Abstract |
The researcher developed a method for simultaneous detection of dual post-translational modifications using two-dimensional electrophoresis based on the original principal of phosphate-affinity electrophoresis, Phos-tag SDS-PAGE. By coupling general SDS-PAGE as the first dimension and Phos-tag SDS-PAGE as the second dimension, dual post-translational modifications of cellular proteins, such as phosphorylation and ubiquitination, were detectable simultaneously on the same gel.
