Research Abstract |
We conducted a cross-sectional study to investigate the association between blood polyphenol levels and DNA methylation levels in gastric mucosa of participants(n=300) who underwent upper gastrointestinal endoscopy as part of the cancer screening program. We found no association between serum polyohenol levels(daidzein, genistein,(-)-epicatechin,(-)-epicatechin-3-gallate,(-)-epigallocatechin, and(-)-epigallocatechin-3-gallate) and DNA methylation levels of three markers which were associated with gastric cancer risk.
