Research Abstract |
Using methylated-CpG island amplification coupled with CpG island microarray(MCAM) analysis, RASGRF1 methylation was significantly elevated in gastric mucosafrom patients with either intestinal or diffuse type gastric cancer (GC). Our datasuggest that RASGRF1 methylation could be a useful biomarker with which to identifyindividuals at high risk for GC.We evaluated the clinical utility of DNA methylation as a biomarker ofmetachronous GC risk by performing a prospective study. Our results suggest thatmethylation of miR-34b/c in background gastric mucosae may be a useful marker topredict metachronous GC risk.
