Research Abstract |
Implantation of bone marrow-derived cells into radiation-injured rat urinary bladders reconstructed smooth muscle layers and nerve fibers. Some of the implanted cells differentiated into smooth muscle or nerve cells. The cell-implanted urinary bladders recovered regular voiding intervals and low residual volume. Therefore, the implantation of bone marrow-derived cells would be treatments for radiotherapy-induced bladder dysfunction.
