Research Abstract |
I planned clinical and basic research to investigate the plasticity of auditory system with repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation(rTMS). Sixteen patients with chronic tinnitus underwent rTMS to the left auditory cortex, and a significant reduction in the tinnitus loudness and annoyance occurred immediately after rTMS. In animal model, rTMS induces the immediate early genes(IEGs) in the auditory cortex.
