Identification and characterization of osteoclastogenesis regulatory factors will be useful for development of therapeutic approach for inflammatory bone diseases. We found that signal transducers and activators of transcription(STAT) 5, which is a transcription factor has the potential to play an important role for suppressing osteoclast differentiation. These results will contribute to development for bone metabolism research and medicine for inflammatory diseases.
