Research Abstract |
First, I investigated articles and books on criminological theories advocated mainly in American criminology so that I could apply one or more of those to the explanation of Japanese Delinquency. Second, I collected quantitative data in Japan and Korea through a questionnaire survey to high school students in both countries. As for English data, I collected secondary data which includes questions similar to those administered in Japan and Korea. Quantitative data analysis strongly shows that power-control theory can be applicable to Japanese and Korean setting. Also conducted were interviews to ex-delinquent adults in Japan.
