Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では電子系とメタマテリアルで別々に発展してきたトポロジカル相の学理の比較と統合を通じて新たなトポロジカル物質・メタ物質の理論展開と物質設計を行う。電子系の物理とメタマテリアルの物理を統一的な視点で見ることで、トポロジカル超物質科学という新分野を開拓することを目的とする。これにより、元来、物理的な機構が大きく異なる電子系、フォノン系、電磁波系、弾性波系を横断的に捉えたトポロジカル超物質科学の理論体系を作ることができ、それを通じ、例えばメタマテリアルに対して電子系の知見を応用した理解と設計指針構築や、またそうした系を利用した新奇現象の予言などを体系的に行う。
