Outline of Research at the Start

超分子チャンネル構造におけるヘテロ環カチオンやアルキルアンモニウム誘導体の回転・反転・並進運動を利用して、次元性を規制した分極を実現する。局所的な分極構造を制御することで、分子レベルでチューナブルなリラクサー群を開拓し、無機物とは全く異なる原理・機序に基づく設計指針を提示する。また、強誘電性と強磁性を担う集合体を分子レベルで複合化することで、強いスピン-格子相互作用を実現し、type-I multiferroicおよび、多様な誘電性と磁性のcouplingに基づく新奇磁気電気(ME)効果を開拓する。以上を通じて、超分子アプローチに基づく分子性誘電材料開発のための基盤を形成する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

超分子構造を活用して、次元性を規制した分極を実現し、局所的な分極構造に基づく分子レベルでチューナブルなリラクサー群を開拓する。また、強誘電性と強磁性を担う集合体を分子レベルで複合化することで、強いスピン-格子相互作用を実現し、type-I multiferroicおよび、多様な誘電性と磁性のcouplingに基づく新奇磁気電気(ME)効果を開拓することを目的に研究を進めた。dibenzo[24]crown-8チャンネル構造内に形成されたbis(2-chloroethyl)ammonium((ClC2)2NH2+)1次元分極構造にdipropylammoniumをドーピングすることで分極の相関長を制御し、単1次元鎖強誘電体が示すリラクサー挙動をチューニングすることを試み、実際に誘電挙動が大きく変化することを確認した。また、マルチフェロイック性を示す(o-fluoroanilinium)(benzo[18]crown-6)[MnIICrIII(oxalate)3]の展開として、オキザレート錯体の中心金属を変化させ、多様な磁性を発現する系の合成を進めた。[FeIICrIII(oxalate)3]を用いた場合、[MnIICrIII(oxalate)3]と同形の結晶が得られたが、[MnIICrIII(oxalate)3]が2次元強磁性を示すのに対し、[FeIICrIII(oxalate)3]は傾斜強磁性を示し、強誘電性と多様な磁性を結合できる可能性を明らかにすることができた。さらに、低次元磁性体との複合化を目指し、[MnIICrIII(oxalate)3]に替えてMn-salen錯体と超分子構造との複合化に着手した。

Reason

すでにリラクサー誘電応答を示す一次元鎖分極構造を開発し、その構造物性相関の詳細が明らかになりつつある。一元分極構造は一般のリラクサーと同様に局所分極構造として取り扱って良いことから、1次元分極構造を持たない同形結晶を与えるdipropylammoniumをbis(2-chloroethyl)ammonium((ClC2)2NH2+)に代えて1次元分極構造に導入することで、分極の相関長を制御することが可能であることが明らかとなった。チューナブルなリラクサーの有力な候補であるこの系について、着実に物性評価を進めている。また、(o-fluoroanilinium)(benzo[18]crown-6)[MnIICrIII(oxalate)3]に基づくマルチフェロイック材料の開拓については、Mnに代えて二価のFeイオンを導入し傾斜強磁性と強誘電性の共存を明らかにした。同系の設計性の高さを裏付ける結果であり、現在、磁性・強誘電性いずれのパートも変換することで、新奇なマルチフェロイック材料構築に向けた材料構築を進めつつある。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

dibenzo[24]crown-8/bis(2-chloroethyl)ammonium((ClC2)2NH2+)が結晶内に形成する擬ロタキサン構造に基づく1次元分極構造(単一次元鎖強誘電体)にdipropylammoniumを系統的にドーピングし、リラクサー誘電応答の機序を解明することで、分子性一次元強誘電体に基づくチューナブルなリラクサーの構築についてその方法論を確立する。また(Supramolecular cation)[M(1)IIM(2)III(oxalate)3]が設計性の高い分子性マルチフェロイックの基盤となることを証明する。強誘電性を示す(o-fluoroanilinium)(benzo[18]crown-6)をカウンターカチオンとする結晶において、M(1), M(2)にそれぞれMn. Crを入れた場合には2次元強磁性が、Fe, Crを導入した系が傾斜強磁性を示したことを端緒として、様々な磁性を示す多様な金属イオンの組み合わせと、様々な誘電物性を示す多様な超分子構造とを組み合わせ、これら物性の交差に基づく多様な新奇物性を開拓する。
