Outline of Research at the Start

ベンゾヘテロ環連続構造は、共鳴安定化により高分子鎖を超安定化する理想構造と長期間考えられてきた。中でもベンゾイミダゾール環連続構造は水素結合能も有するため、あらゆる高分子の中で最高耐熱温度を示す。一方、本プロジェクトでは当理想構造の問題点を明らかにし、真の超安定化構造を見出すため、
１）ベンズアミドなどの導入による連続構造の切断
２）イミダゾール環の有機・無機官能基修飾による芳香族性制御
を行うことで、イミダゾール環の安定性と水素結合能を共存させる「アンチ共鳴安定化」に基づく分子鎖間相互作用の増強を行う。これにより、極限環境耐性（耐熱性、耐電圧、耐放射線性）を持つ超安定高分子材料を設計する。
