Outline of Research at the Start

ハンチントン病などの神経変性疾患ではゲノム上のCXGリピート配列の異常伸長が発症原因となる。本提案研究では、提案者が創製したミスマッチ塩基対を認識する低分子化合物が示した、異常伸長したリピート配列への結合と、in vivo での短縮効果から見出した２つの核心的学術的問い、「CAGリピートDNAが形成するCAG/CAG部位に分子NAが結合することにより、どのような生体反応が誘起されたのか？」と「分子NAとNCDはなぜ、そしてどのように2:1複合体を形成するのか？」について、統合的な理解の獲得とより高い短縮効果を示す化合物創製への展開を目指す。
