Outline of Research at the Start

トウモロコシやトマトをはじめ、雑種強勢を利用した育種は多く知られているが、その分子機構が明らかになったケースはごくわずかであり、特に、超優性を示す雑種強勢遺伝子は、トマトのフロリゲン様遺伝子のひとつであるSFT遺伝子のケースしか報告がない。
そこで、本研究では、ゲノム編集技術により作成された二つのイネのフロリゲン遺伝子の破壊系統を用い、様々な交配により、フロリゲン遺伝子の破壊状況が異なるF１個体を作成して、その雑種強勢の有無を確認し、個々の農業形質への作用機作を分子遺伝学的に解明し、農業上役に立つ新しい遺伝資源の開発を目指す。
