Outline of Research at the Start

乳腺における免疫機構（乳腺免疫）は、周産期の母体や産仔の健康を保つ上で重要であり、その強化を目指した研究に対する現場ニーズも極めて大きい。しかしながら、乳腺免疫の要とされる「母子移行型の乳汁抗体産生」に関するメカニズムですらも未だ完全解明には至っておらず、その解明と応用を目的とした明確な課題抽出と先駆的かつ確実に解の得られる現実的な研究構想が、畜産業の発展に必要である。本研究では、長年の研究を通して見出した乳腺免疫研究に残された２つの謎（特異性および細胞特性）を、申請者が有する学術・研究基盤に最先端技術を導入し解明することで、家畜の生産性向上に資する乳腺免疫研究を大きく飛躍させていく。
