Outline of Research at the Start

大気エアロゾルは大気環境の悪化、気候変動や健康被害など多岐にわたって影響を与えている.近年のリモートセンシング技術の発達によって,光吸収特性や粒径分布,組成といったエアロゾルの性状に関する情報が得られるようになった.本研究では複数の観測プラットフォームから得られたエアロゾルの性状に関する観測情報を適切かつ同時に数値モデルに取り込む多次元要素同時同化システムの開発を行う.開発したシステムを数値エアロゾル予測やエアロゾル版再解析プロダクトに導入することで,組成や粒径にまで踏み込んだモニタリングと被害抑制,健康被害や物質循環,気候変動をはじめとしたエアロゾル影響の解明とその定量化に寄与する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

3年度目にあたる本年は、以下の内容の研究を行った。
・【衛星搭載放射計(受動型センサ)の複合同化】:ひまわり9号から得られたエアロゾル光学的厚さとGCOM-C/SGLIから得られたエアロゾル光学的厚さを統合し、1つの観測データとするコンポジットデータを作成した。コンポジットデータを作成することにより、特に陸上での観測カバー率の増加と観測誤差の低減を確認した。コンポジットデータを用いたデータ同化実験を実施した。コンポジットデータによるカバー率が増加により、特に陸上での同化機会が大幅に増加し、予測精度は大きく向上した。現在、JAXAひまわりモニタで運用されている同化予測システムの改良を行い、コンポジットデータを同化できるようにした。試験的に準リアルタイム予報を実施し、現状のシステムとの並行運用を行うことで、精度検証にむけた準備をおこなった。
・【衛星搭載ライダー】:打ち上げられたEarthCARE/ATLIDのLevel 2データを取得、特にエアロゾルイベントが観測された日時・場所を中心に、数値モデルによる予測結果との比較検証を行った。
・【エアロゾル工学特性同化】:前年度までに、単散乱アルベドから導出した吸収特性を同化するシステムを構築、同化実験を行ってきたが、本年度はその手法を再検討し、よりリトリーバルと一体化した手法を考案した。具体的には、モデルの結果を先験情報とし、リトリーバルの段階で各エアロゾル種に関する情報を推定し、その情報をデータ同化でモデルに取り込む手法である。

Reason

イメージャー同化やエアロゾル光学特性に関する同化については、概ね順調に進捗しているが、衛星搭載ライダーデータの同化については、昨年打ち上げられたデータの取得が遅くなったため、予定していた同化実験を昨年度中に実施することができなかったが、本年度前半に実施予定である。

・【衛星搭載放射計(受動型センサ)の複合同化】:コンポジットデータを用いた運用システムの構築と精度評価。現システムのリプレースと現業運用の開始。
・【衛星搭載ライダー】:EarthCARE/ATLIDデータと数値モデルのシミュレーション結果との比較。EarthCARE/ATLIDデータを用いた同化実験。
・【エアロゾル工学特性同化】:新しいリトーリバルスキームで推定された各エアロゾル種に関する情報を用いた同化実験を実施。精度検証を行う。
