| Outline of Research at the Start |
「よみうり抄」とは明治から昭和にかけて『讀賣新聞』に掲載された作家、芸術家、学者、文化人らの旅行や転居等の短信、消息、ゴシップ、イベント情報などの「彙報欄」である。「よみうり抄」を精査し信頼のおける資料体（テキストデータ）とすることが本研究課題の核心である。
また「よみうり抄」によって読者が予め作家や芸術家の消息を知ったうえで、そこから推測される出来事を小説に期待し、作家たちもそれを想定したうえで様々な場面や状況を描写するといった循環現象も起こりうる。「彙報欄」を媒体としたネットワークの実態と事実と虚構が複雑に交錯する光景が文学の場でどのように生成されるのかを明らかにする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
During the three years of my research, I was engaged in research, writing, and proofreading for the publication of the Taisho section of Yomiuri Shimbun Yomiuri Sho, and edited the first volume (Meiji 45, Taisho 1 - Taisho 3), which was published in February of this year. Referring to the articles in Yomiuri Sho, I strongly recognized the significance of the bulletin column, which provides a wide range of breaking news on cultural phenomena of the same period, and its potential for use in research. The articles provide detailed information not only on literature, but also on art and academia, and their content encompasses the entire culture of the period. By putting this information into print in chronological order, information on literature, culture, and art of the modern era, which until now has been formed through the discourses of specific individuals and the testimonies of those who lived around them, can be studied in a more factual manner.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
「よみうり抄」は、作家はもとより、芸術家などの文化人らの短信、消息、ゴシップについて、メディアが率先して情報提供を行うようになった企画の嗜矢である。読者からも高く評価され、その後、他の新聞や雑誌でも彙報欄が一般化していく。いつどこに出かけ、誰と会い、何をしたのかといった消息を日々の記録として集積していく彙報欄の登場によって、読者は作品だけではなく、その創作過程や作品の背景にも精通できるようになる。作家たちが自ら「商品」となり販売戦略の一端を担うことになり、固有名そのものに意味が備わっていく。メディアの力によって構築された「作家」を読み解くことで、それを差し引いた新しい「作家研究」が可能となる。
