Outline of Research at the Start	現在、学校清掃の指導に対して、規律を重んじる児童・生徒への管理教育として否定的な意見が広がっており、憲法を根拠に教育的妥当性を問う声もある。欧米の学校では、児童生徒による学校清掃が見られないことが要因の一つと考えられる。一方で、学校清掃を教育の主眼として位置づける小・中学校は多く、掃除と精神性を結びつける日本特有の文化が学校清掃と関連していると考えられる。そこで、本研究の目的は、多角的に日本における学校清掃の歴史文化的背景と教育効果を明らかにし、今後の学校清掃の在り方、学校清掃の是非を考察することである。
