| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、北海道帝国大学大学予科の入学者選抜試験制度を1918～1930年の期間について調査し、旧制高等学校や他の帝国大学大学予科と比較考察するものである。
北海道帝国大学が附属する大学予科は、旧制高等学校と異なる制度にあった一方で、「大学令」（勅令第388号、1918年12月6日）により高等学校高等科と程度を同じくすると規定されたように、類似した教育階梯であった。選抜試験についても、高等学校との関連性が認められる。そこで、文部省により規定されていた旧制高等学校の選抜試験との関係を分析し、旧制高等学校から帝国大学へという進学経路とは異なった、北海道帝国大学大学予科の選抜試験について考察する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
I investigated the system and contents of the entrance examination for the College Preparatory School of Hokkaido Imperial University from 1918 to 1927. Next, I investigated the resolutions of the high school principals' conference and the entrance examinations for high schools, and conducted a comparative study.
As a preliminary history, we also investigated the entrance examinations for the College Preparatory School of Agricultural College of Tohoku Imperial University, which took place from 1907 to 1917.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
従来の入学者選抜試験制度史研究においては、旧制高等学校を対象とするものが多い一方で、同程度の教育階梯にある大学予科に関するものはほとんどみられなかった。北海道帝国大学附属大学予科の入学者選抜試験の日程について、高等学校長会議の決議事項や高等学校の入学試験とみあわせることで、準拠する点や相違する点を明らかにした。また、前史として、東北帝国大学農科大学大学予科の期間についても同様の比較調査を実施し、そうした関係性が始まる時期について確かめた。このことは、旧制高等学校を主たる対象としてきた高等教育機関への入学者選抜試験制度史研究を拡張し展開するものと考える。
