Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、強いスピン軌道相互作用と原子サイトの対称性(点群あるいは空間群)に由来する隠れたスピン偏極や超伝導を示す層状化合物(低次元電子系)の純良単結晶を育成する。これらの物質について空間分解能を高めた高分解能(スピン)角度分解光電子分光(高分解能ARPES)を行い、スピン偏極したフェルミ面構造およびバンド構造を初めて実験的に解明する。また新たにベイズ推定を用いたARPES スペクトル形状解析プログラムを開発し、フェルミ準位近傍の電子に働く量子多体相互作用〔電子-格子、電子-電子、電子-不純物(格子欠陥)相互作用〕を系統的に定量化する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、らせん操作および映進操作(グライド操作)に関する対称性をもつノンシンモルフィック空間群に含まれる結晶構造を持ち、強いスピン軌道相互作用が働くことにより隠れたスピン偏極が期待される化合物単結晶を作製し、高分解能(スピン)角度分解光電子分光(ARPES)により、そのフェルミ面・バンド構造・スピンテクスチャを実験的に明らかにする。またベイズ推定を用いた新たなARPES スペクトル形状解析プログラムを開拓し、フェルミ準位近傍の準粒子状態を支配する量子多体相互作用〔電子-格子、電子-電子、電子-不純物(格子欠陥)相互作用〕を系統的に定量化し、マクロ物性を一電子近似を超えた多電子描像で理解することを目的としている。
令和5年度の研究成果としては以下のとおり。

(1) ARPESスペクトルの新たな解析手法を開発し、ビスマス系銅酸化物高温超伝導体(Bi2201)に適用した。新たな解析手法は自己エネルギーに対する解析的表式を与え、クラマース・クロニッヒ変換(K-K変換)を満たすように、一電子バンドと自己エネルギーを同時に決定できる。これによりARPESで観測したBi2201のバンド分散に生じる高エネルギー異常の起源となる自己エネルギーを抽出し、フェルミ準位近傍のバンドの折れ曲り構造を与える自己エネルギーをK-K変換を満たすように決定できた。

(2) ノンシンモルフィック空間群に含まれる結晶構造を持つPdSeTeの単結晶を育成し、超伝導転移温度が3.2Kであることを確認し、これは従来報告されていた値2.7Kよりも高いことを明らかにした。この電子構造を放射光を用いたARPESにより初めて解明した。また、バルクバンド計算やスラブモデルを用いた表面電子状態の計算を行って実験結果の解析を進めた。

Reason

ARPESスペクトルの解析手法を新たに開発し、ビスマス系銅酸化物高温超伝導体(Bi2201)に適用して自己エネルギーおよび一電子バンドに決定できた。またノンシンモルフィック構造を持つPdSeTeの単結晶育成に成功し、超伝導転移を確認するとともにARPES測定を初めて行った。2023年9月11日-15日に北京で開催されたInternational Workshop on Strong Correlations and Angle-resolved Photoemission Spectroscopy (CORPES23)で研究指導する学生がPdSeTeの超伝導とARPESの結果に関する発表を行った。2023年10月10日-13日にインドのバナラシで開催されたInternational Conference on Advanced Materials for Better Tomorrow-IIでトポロジカル表面準位の多体相互作用に関する招待講演を行った。その会議で研究指導したポスドク研究員が本研究課題に関連しポスター賞を受賞した。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

(1)令和6年度はこれまでに得られたBi2201の自己エネルギー解析に関する研究成果および超伝導体PdSeTeの電子構造に関する研究成果を論文として公表し、学会でも研究成果を発表する。また公表された論文についてはプレスリリースを行い、研究成果をわかりやすく社会に発信する。

(2)ノンシンモルフィック空間群に属する反強磁性マンガンカルコゲナイド単結晶のバンド構造をARPESにより明らかにし、ARPESスペクトルの定量的形状解析により、多体相互作用の研究を進める。

(3)これまでの研究を総括し、今後の研究の展開に向けた準備を行う。
