Outline of Research at the Start

The majority of massive stars are affected by interactions with nearby companion stars. We study how binary interactions affect multi-messenger signatures of massive stars, their core-collapse supernovae, and the evolution of their remnants. Binary population models will be constructed and improved with current and future observational calibrations. We will deliver realistic predictions of supernova relic neutrinos, probabilistic expectations for the next Milky Way core-collapse supernova, and provide physical connections between multi- messenger signatures of core-collapse supernovae.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は、(1)大質量星の連星進化に特化した種族合成法モデルの構築、(2)連星進化を取り入れた超新星背景ニュートリノ放射の枠組み、という2つの課題を進めた。
(1)重力崩壊を迎える大質量星の性質を同定する目的で、大質量星の連星進化に特化した種族合成法モデルを構築し計算を投稿した。連星パラメーターを系統的に探り、大質量星のコアの質量や回転などの分布の予言に成功し、典型的な進化パスを明らかにした。さらに、そこから期待される超新星のタイプや残されるコンパクト天体の議論を行った。超新星背景ニュートリノ放射、ガンマ線バースト、銀河系内超新星、など様々なテーマに関する成果である。
(2)超新星背景ニュートリノ放射に必要である超新星率のサーベイを行い、新しいデータベースおよび数値的評価を出版した。、また、大質量星のコア質量を考慮した超新星背景ニュートリノ放射の計算手法を開発した。残されるコンパクト天体が中性子星であるかブラックホールであるかをコア質量分布に依存させて、超新星背景ニュートリノ放射を予言できる手法を導入し、現在結果を論文にまとめている。
また、研究結果について国際研究会で招待講演を行った。

Reason

大質量星の連星に特化した種族合成法モデルを完成させたことによって、論文投稿や学会発表などを行えた。また、超新星率の新しい論文も出版でき、超新星背景ニュートリノ放射の予言の段取りも順調である。さらに、種族合成法モデルのアウトプットを考慮した超新星背景ニュートリノ放射の計算方法が開発できており、次年度には論文にまとめて出版されると期待できる。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今年度完成させた種族合成法モデルから予言される爆発現象のタイプ、ニュートリノ放射、超新星背景ニュートリノ放射の予言などを調べていく。パラメーター扱いではなく連星進化モデルに予言されるブラックホールへ重量崩壊する大質量星からのニュートリノの寄与を定量的に評価する。また、種族合成法モデルの応用として、銀河系内における連星合体や重力崩壊の空間的分布を調べていく。
