活動銀河核からの超高エネルギーガンマ線については,その放射領域も放射メカニズムも十分には分かっていない.そこで本研究では,MAGIC望遠鏡とCTA大口径望遠鏡LST1との同時観測により,超高エネルギーガンマ線で,活動銀河核,特に電波銀河を世界最高感度で観測し,詳細な「時間変動」と「エネルギースペクトル」を調べる.さらに,多波長同時観測によるSEDとその時間変動より,活動銀河核における超高エネルギーガンマ線の放射領域の特定と放射メカニズムの解明を目指す.

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
At the centers of active galactic nuclei (AGNs) far from the Milky Way, there exist supermassive black holes whose masses exceed several million times that of the Sun., and unimaginably energetic astrophysical phenomena are occurring in its vicinity. It is known that electromagnetic radiation is emitted from these regions across the entire spectrum, from radio waves to gamma rays, but the exact sources and mechanisms of this emission remain largely unknown. In this study, we aim to elucidate the mechanism of gamma-ray emission from active galactic nuclei by observing very high-energy gamma rays using the MAGIC atmospheric Cherenkov telescope located on La Palma Island, Spain. As a result, we found that the data are consistent with an electron origin and that the emission source differs from that of the radio waves, although we were not able to pinpoint the exact emission region.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
超巨大質量ブラックホール近傍の高エネルギー天体現象の解明は,宇宙線の起源や銀河の進化,さらには宇宙の進化の理解に密接に関係しているにも関わらず,いまだに多くの謎に包まれており,宇宙物理学上解明すべき大きな課題の一つである.本研究の成果は小さな一歩ではあるが,その解明に着実に貢献するものである.また,その過程で行われた国際共同研究や国際共同観測キャンペーンを通じて,研究者間の相互理解が深められたことも,社会的な意義という点で評価できる.
