Outline of Research at the Start

混合相雲とそこから生成される降雪粒子の微物理量を解析する、新たな衛星解析手法を開発する。地上観測等による検証手法を確立し検証を実施する。ミリ波雲レーダ・ライダを搭載する衛星アクティブセンサ観測から、新規手法により微物理量と同時に決定される雲物理過程モデルのパラメータを解析することで混合相雲の物理特性形成に重要な機構の解明を目指す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題では、混合相雲とそこから生成される降雪粒子の微物理量を解析する、新たな衛星解析手法の開発を行うことを目的としている。衛星解析手法の開発と検証のため、地上観測データを用いた衛星検証手法を確立する。94GHzの雲レーダを搭載するCloudSat衛星(NASA)と2波長偏光ライダを搭載するCALIPSO衛星 (NASA-CNES)および、初めてドップラー機能を有する94GHzドップラー雲レーダと波長355nmの高スペクトル分解ライダが搭載される日欧共同提案のThe Earth Cloud, Aerosol and Radiation Explorer (EarthCARE)衛星観測から、新たに開発を行う衛星解析手法による雲・降水粒子微物理量抽出と同時に決定される雲物理過程モデルのパラメータの解析を行う。これらのことにより、混合相雲および、降雪粒子の物理特性形成に重要な機構の解明を目指す。本年度は、衛星搭載ライダ、ミリ波雲レーダを中心とした衛星搭載アクティブセンサ観測から詳細な雲氷粒子カテゴリーの3次元分布を初めて明らかにし、混合相雲とそこから生成される降雪粒子の微物理量を抽出し全球解析を行う独自手法の開発を行い、感度実験を実施した。また、開発した地上の光 学式ディスドロメーターおよび、マイクロレインレーダのドップラースペクトラムなど地上複合観測データによる衛星検証手法の検証と拡張を行った。本研究課題で得られたこれらの研究成果は、国際学術誌に投稿した他、国際学会等を通して研究成果の報告を行った。

衛星搭載アクティブセンサ観測から雲・降水粒子の物理量に関する新たな解析を可能にする手法と衛星検証手法を独自開発し、研究成果を国際学術誌および、国際学会等を通して発表した。研究課題は概ね順調に進展している。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

開発した衛星解析手法を用い衛星観測から全容が解明されていない混合相雲・氷粒子カテゴリー・降雪粒子の微物理特性の全球解析を実施し、微物理量と同時に決定される雲物理過程モデルのパラメータを解析する。
