Outline of Research at the Start

Ti alloys are extensively used in aerospace, marine and bio-medical industries. The formed TiB phase exhibits an appropriate balance of thermochemical stability, mechanical properties, and thermal expansion, reinforcing Ti-6Al-4V alloys. We aim to establish a prediction model among the boron content, electron beam powder bed fusion parameters, microstructure, and mechanical properties of Ti-6Al-4V/TiB alloys. Boron modified Ti-6Al-4V alloys with high strength and Young’s modulus will be fabricated by obtaining ultra-fine microstructure.
