Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study aimed to clarify the social network structure that balances socio-economic activity and infectious disease spread suppression during an epidemic like COVID-19. It also sought to establish methods for inducing such network structures. The key findings are as follows. Through an exploratory investigation, it was revealed that network structures with high clustering coefficient and small maximum eigenvalue of the adjacency matrix is crucial for simultaneously achieving infectious disease suppression and active socio-economic activity. Furthermore, a dynamic NW formation game model was examined, incorporating both individual rationality and social rationality. Analysis of this model demonstrated a method to control network structure by adjusting the balance between these two rationalities. While this approach offers a reasonable model for social network formation, it also highlighted challenges in accurately representing real-world social network formation.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
