Outline of Research at the Start

層状物質の1層を単離した“2次元物質”は欠陥の存在が電気伝導,光学特性,化学反応等の機能性に大きな影響を与える.本研究では欠陥の局所化学構造が機能性に与える効果に着目する.
イオンビーム照射によりモデル欠陥である単原子空孔を2次元物質について定量的に導入し,高純度ガスの導入で空孔の終端化学構造を制御しながら,電気伝導・発光の評価を行う.欠陥量と化学構造の両者を制御して欠陥の影響を評価する本研究により,2次元物質の欠陥エンジニアリングによる新規機能性材料の開拓を担保する学理を確立することを目指す.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

昨年度行ったB,Nイオンによる軽元素ビームによる欠陥導入とキャリアドーピングの結果を踏まえて,今年度は,電荷移動によるキャリアドーピングに加えてスピン軌道相互の導入が期待される重元素イオンとしてAu,Iイオンビーム照射による欠陥導入を行った.照射にあたっては前年度に開発したNaCl犠牲層を用いた手法を用い,加速電圧はB,Nイオンと同じ200 keVを適用した.代表的な2次元物質であるグラフェンに対してAu,Iイオンビームを照射した試料においては,いずれのイオン種においても欠陥導入によるホールドーピングが見られた.これは重原子イオン照射においては同じ加速電圧でもイオンエネルギーが大きくなるため,Au照射においてNaCl犠牲層との化学反応が有機されて実際にはAuCl3の形でグラフェンに注入されているためであることが判明し,注入イオンと犠牲層との反応についても今後検討を要することがわかった.一方,Au照射とAr照射による欠陥導入を比較したところ,Raman散乱の結果よりAu照射の方がグラフェン中のキャリアに対する散乱能が2倍程度大きくなることが見出された.これは欠陥の化学構造の違いによりグラフェンのフェルミエネルギーが変わることにより理解される.これらの結果についてをとりまとめ論文として出版した.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

昨年度に引き続きMoS2へのFeイオン照射に加えて,TaS2に対するArイオン照射による欠陥導入を実施し,電気伝導,円偏光PLによる欠陥化学種依存性の評価を進める.
