Outline of Research at the Start

異なる多孔性配位高分子(PCP)同士の機能を協同的に発現させるような設計指針は未だに開発途上にあり、PCP-on-PCP型複合体による触媒特性の研究自体が現時点で殆ど知られていない。しかし、錯体化学を基盤とした材料であるPCPは、その骨格や細孔、ドメインサイズにおいて高い構造設計性を有しており、さらには均一な細孔を持つことによる高い基質選択制を付与することも可能である。本申請研究では、複数の分子の混合状態から選択的かつ順序良く基質を活性化して異なる反応を進行する、連携機能触媒能の開発を行い、その詳細な機構解明を通して、機能性ドメインを連携的に融合する基盤技術の確立を目指す。

Outline of Final Research Achievements

This study aims to develop high-performance catalysts by integrating the functions of different porous coordination polymers (PCPs). A series of semiconductive PCPs with high stability was synthesized using redox-active NDI ligands, allowing precise control of π-stacking via metal selection. These materials exhibited excellent catalytic activity for NOx reduction in water, supported by in situ mechanistic studies (Angew. Chem. Int. Ed., 2024). Enhanced performance was also achieved via heterometallic PCPs (Chem. Mater., 2024) and application in rechargeable aqueous zinc batteries (Small, 2025). Furthermore, a hierarchical PCP-on-PCP composite demonstrated superior CO2 photoreduction activity (in preparation). This strategy offers a new approach for designing multifunctional porous catalysts.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements

本研究は、異なるPCPの機能を協奏的に融合させる新しい材料設計手法を確立し、従来を超える触媒性能と多機能性を実現した点で学術的意義が大きい。構造ー機能相関の理解を深め、PCP科学における設計の自由度を大幅に広げた。特に、階層構造や異種金属の導入により触媒性能や電子的特性を自在に制御できることを示したことは、今後の材料開発の指針となる。社会的には、NOxやCO2の環境浄化、再生可能エネルギー電池材料への展開により、持続可能な社会の実現やエネルギー問題の解決に貢献する。省エネルギーかつ高効率な物質変換技術の基盤となる成果である。
