Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
Phospholipid synthesis takes place across multiple organelle membranes. In this study, we aimed to elucidate the mechanism of phospholipid transport by Sfh4 between organelles. Structural analysis of the Sfh4-Pbi1 complex using cryo-electron microscopy revealed that upon binding to Pbi1, Sfh4 undergoes a conformational change that expands its phospholipid-binding pocket. This suggests that binding to Pbi1 enables Sfh4 to transport phospholipids more efficiently.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
