Outline of Research at the Start

統合失調症はその原因が未解明であり，現在の治療法では社会復帰が難しいなどの課題が残っている．代表者らは統合失調症患者死後脳の複数のオミクス解析を通じて，脳領域特異的な膜脂質（以下，標的脂質）レベルの異常を新たに発見した．さらに「標的脂質レベルを観察可能な質量分析イメージング技術」と「標的脂質レベルを光操作可能なオプトジェネティクス技術」をこれまで開発してきた．本研究ではこれらの操作観察技術を応用することで，「統合失調症において標的脂質が減少する理由」と「標的脂質減少が統合失調症病態に与える影響」をあきらかにし，脂質異常の観点から統合失調症病態の理解と新たな治療戦略を模索する．
