Outline of Research at the Start

皮膚に定着する黄色ブドウ球菌はアトピー性皮膚炎（AD）の病態形成に関与している。皮膚の表皮角化細胞はこの黄色ブドウ球菌を細胞内に内包化することが知られている。本研究では、皮膚の細菌叢が皮膚の知覚に及ぼす影響を明らかにするため、黄色ブドウ球菌を内包化した表皮角化細胞が後根神経節細胞に与える影響を検討する。本研究によって、AD特有の細菌叢とADの病態形成の関わりが明らかになるだけではなく、表皮角化細胞と末梢神経の相互作用が明らかになり、さらにはADにとどまらない新たなそう痒の機序解明と対策がもたらされることが期待できる。
