新型コロナウィルス感染症パンデミックは医療資源利用に甚大な変化をもたらした。その結果、新型コロナウィルス対策以外の通常医療は医療資源を十分に利用できず、質・量ともに制限を受けた。パンデミックが新型コロナウィルス対策以外の通常医療にもたらす長期的影響は全く不明である。
本研究では新型コロナウィルス対策とは直接関係しない手術医療を取り上げて、パンデミック中の生産性変化を長期的に評価することを目的とする。本研究の知見は、新型コロナウィルス感染症パンデミックが通常医療の生産性に及ぼす影響を知るための基礎的知識となることが期待できる。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
２０２３年度中にCOVID-19と医療生産性の関係に関する研究はすべて予定通りに成功裏に終了したため、２０２４年度はその研究成果を広く公表することに努めた。６月には日本麻酔科学会(神戸市）でシンポジウムを座長として開催し、その中で研究成果を発表した（下記①②参照）。また、３月には米国南カリフォルニア大学医学部Global Medicine課程大学院生やその教授陣・研究者に対して研究成果を発表した（下記③参照）。また、同じく3月にはRE-CARE Tokyo Conference (Resilient Healthcare, Perspectives on the Intersections of Crises, Health, and Technology from Germany and Japan)（東京大学法学部）にて海外の研究者に向けて研究成果を発表した（下記④参照）。
