Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
In collaboration with the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Yamaguchi University, we investigated the effects of postoperative rehabilitation on activities of daily living (ADL) and the association between mRNA expression of antioxidant gene and mitochondrial DNA levels in blood cells in patients who underwent orthopedic surgery. The results revealed a significant association between postoperative walking ability and SOD2. Additionally, in the human subject study “Research on New Biomarkers Reflecting Exercise Effects_2” (ERB-11076) approved at Kochi University, the presence of neutrophil granule proteins in human plasma sediment fractions was identified, and measurement methods for myeloperoxidase and elastase were established.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
