| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、看護における観察技術の向上を目的に、熟練者と初学者の観察方法の違いを眼球運動により客観的に示し、それをリフレクション教材として用いることで観察技術の教育効果を高めようとするものである。初学者が自らの眼球運動を確認し、さらに熟練者のそれと比較、内省をすることでリフレクション教育が成立する。本研究では、眼球運動を用いたリフレクション教育によって観察技術が早期に向上するものと考えている。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect on nursing observation education of utilizing eye tracking for reflecting on one's own observation. The concept of situation awareness was used to define observation, and perception, which is the first stage of observation, was evaluated from eye tracking. Thirty nursing college students participated. They carried out reflections utilizing both self and expert fixation maps (GA), self fixation map only (GB), and the background image without a fixation map (GC), after reading patient information and looking at an image of a nursing scene depicting a faulty technique. The eye tracking from their observations were analyzed by group comparison and time series comparison. It was found that GA and GB tended to observe the problem area for continuous periods. At the perception stage of observation, the use of eye tracking for reflection exhibited the effect of enhancing continuous observation of the problem and important areas.

| Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements |
看護時の観察は、患者の情報収集、行動計画を立案するための基盤となる重要な技術である。また、医療事故の原因として観察不足があり、観察教育の重要性が指摘されている。しかし、観察は何をどのように見ていたのか客観的に記述することや評価をすることが困難なため教育を一層困難なものにしている。本研究は観察時の眼球運動に着目し、観察に対する教育に自己や熟練者の注視点分布を用いた教育を実施、加えて振り返りの手法であるリフレクションを活用した。観察の知覚の段階において、観察を繰り返した際に、重要領域の情報収集を継続できる、重要領域の情報を選択的に得られる効果が示唆され、観察時の教育効果を高めることが可能となった。
