Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、自律分散型フォグコンピューティング(DFC)モデルの省電力化について研究する。フォグノードで、通信、処理を行うために消費される電力を与える電力消費モデルと、各ノードでの通信、処理を行うための時間を与える計算モデルを新たに研究する。これらのモデルを用いて、センサで生成されるデータと処理プロセスを、フォグノードとサーバに、性能と信頼性の制約を保障しながらノードで消費される電力量を低減するように、分散、多重化、移動をノード間の協調により行う分散協調アルゴリズムを研究する。また、フォグノードが不正にアクセスされないようにするフォグアクセス制御(FAC)モデルを研究する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究課題では、IoTの自律分散型フォグコンピューティング(DFC)モデルで消費される電力量[J]の低減とフォグノード間での不正情報流の防止を目指している。令和5年度では、初年度の研究成果を基にして、これまで研究を行ってきたTBFC(Tree-Based FC)モデルを、デバイスノードで生成されるセンサデータ量の変化に対応できるように動的に構成を変更するモデルの研究を行なった。TBFCモデルは、サーバを根、デバイスノードを葉、フォグノードを中間ノードとする木構造となっている。また、各フォグノードは、センサデータを処理するためのプロセスを提供している。フォグノードの木構造を変更するために、(1)ノード間の親子関係を変更する操作、多重化(replicate)と拡張(expand)、また(2)フォグノードが提供するプロセスを子ノードに移行する操作(migrate)を考案した。消費電力の大きいノードに、どの操作演算を適用するかを決定するために、演算を適用し木構造を変化させたときの消費電力を与えるモデルを新たに明らかにした。このモデルを用いて、フォグノードの木構造を、消費電力を低減するように変更するアルゴリズムを提案した。
また、デバイスノードから送信されたセンサデータの不正情報流について研究を行った。フォグノードをCBAC(Capability-Based Access Control)モデルにより不正アクセスを防止することを考えているが、ここでは、フォグノードが提供するプロセスとして、集合演算とmax,avg等の集積(aggregate)演算を考え、フォグノードが生成するデータに、各デバイスノードのセンサデータがどの程度含まれるかを示す含有率(component degree)の概念を新たに提案している。
研究成果を論文としてまとめ、国際会議で19件、学術論文誌に2件を発表した。

Reason

本研究課題では、IoTのフォグコンピューティング(FC)モデルの電力消費量を低減し、フォグノード間での不正情報流を防止することを目的としている。このために、第2年度(令和5年度)では、まず、フォグノードが木構造をしたTBFCモデルを、センサデータ量の変化に対して、全フォグノードの消費電力量を低減するように動的に変更するためのモデルとアルゴリズムを考案した。TBFCモデルの木構造変更アルゴリズムを、シミュレーションにより評価を行ない、消費電力を低減するように変更を行えることを示した。これまでにIoTのFCモデルの消費電力を求めるシミュレータはないので、TBFCモデルの消費電力を求めるためのシミュレータの開発を行ない、これを用いて評価を行なった。
また、フォグノードのアクセス制御(AC)のためのCBAC(Capability-Based AC)モデルでの不正情報流を防止するために、新たにセンサデータの含有率(component degree)の概念を提案した。含有率は、フォグノードが提供するプロセスの種類により、入力データが出力データにどの程度含まれるかを示すものである。これを基に不正情報流を防止するためのモデルを明らかにした。
これらの研究成果は、当初の研究計画通りである。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

令和6年度は本研究課題の最終年度である。今年度に研究を行なってきたIoTのTBFCモデルを、より消費電力の小さいモデルに動的に変更するアルゴリズムの改良と評価を行う。加えて、新たにNBFC(Network-Based Fog Computing)モデルの研究を行う。TBFCモデルでは、各フォグノードが通信を行えるノードは親ノードと子ノードに限定されている。これに対して、NBFCモデルでは、各フォグノードが、次の処理を行えるフォグノードを自律的に求め、互いに交渉(negotiation)を行ない合意をとるものである。フォグノードの性能変化、機能変化(提供するプロセスの変更)、障害、移動に対して、柔軟に適応できるものである。フォグノード間で、互いの消費電力を低減できるように合意をとる交渉プロトコルを研究し、本研究課題で開発したシミュレータを用いて評価を行なう予定である。
次に、フォグコンピューティング(FC)モデルでの不正アクセスを防止するためにCBACモデルを考えている。ここで生じるフォグノード間の不正情報流を防止するために、今年度に提案を行なった含有率に基づいたセンサデータの不正情報流防止モデルの研究を行う予定である。あるデバイスノードからフォグノード経由で処理されたセンサデータが届いたときに、このデバイスノードに対するアクセス権限がないと不正な情報流となる。本研究では、届いたデータ内のセンサデータの含有率が低いときには、不正情報流はないとするものである。
本研究課題の最終年度として、研究成果のとりまとめを行なう。
