現在の康煕字典字形は、説文解字の小篆を根拠として伝統的な筆写字形を改めているものが少なくない。現在見ることができる説文解字は許慎原本や唐代石經の楷書よりもずっと下った南唐末(小徐本)・北宋初(大徐本)に成立したテキストに基づくものだが、元・明代には出版が少なく、現在利用されているのは清刻本である。現在通行の両本とも、初印本出版後に何度も改彫が加わっていることが知られる。これは清代には説文学が大きく発展したために、「清代まで誤って伝わった部分を修正する」ための改彫とみられ、現在通行の影印本が最終版であるかも明らかでない。日本に残る二徐の清刻本の影印を調査し、改彫の過程を明らかにする。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
As referential materials of Shuowen Jiezi, the Chen Changzhi version for DaXu text, the Qi Junzhao version are widely used. In this research, the original woodblock prints remained in Japan, China mainland and Taiwan are investigated, and found that many Seal glyphs were modified after the early print to late print. Especially, for Chen's version, the photographic reproduction by Zhonghua Shuju on 1963 had corrected many Seal glyphs, but the corrections were not applied to their second print on 2013. Therefore, the source material of their reproduction on 2013 was later print including many correction, but some glyphs are worse than their first reproduction on 1963. The digital photographs are produced for the copies remained in Japanese institutes, and they are published as open accessible digital data.

陳昌治本の影印本として広く流通しているものには、中華書局による影印本がある。日本の学術機関に広く所蔵されているのは1963年に発行され、何度も重版されたものである。これは陳昌治本の早印本に基づくことが知られているが、早印本自体の正確な影印は流通しておらず、どの部分が修正されているのかは不明であった。また、2013年に重新製版本が出版され、これは修正が加えられた後印本に基づいている。しかし、京都大学人文科学研究所所蔵の所引本原刻本と両影印本を比較すると、1963年影印本に加えられた修正は、2013年影印本には適用されておらず、底本自体は改善されている筈の2013年版の誤りが目立つことが分かった。
