本研究は戦後韓国社会で日本語教育が「全面禁止」から「自己啓発の象徴」に至るまでの日本語教育をめぐる政治的かつ社会的背景及び影響について調査する。日韓両国の新聞や映画の資料をも用いて今まで注目されなかった1950年代から1970年代までの日本語教育に対する談話と実践がどのように変化してきたのかを検討する。そして日本語教育は1970年代以前にはほとんど存在しなかったと仮定している主流研究の前提を再検討させることを目的とする。

This study explores the historical evolution of Japanese education in postcolonial Korea (1950-1970). Through analyzing news reports on discourses and practices regarding Japanese education in postcolonial Korea, the study seeks to elucidate how Japanese education has unfurled. The contradictions and tensions around the Japanese language will show the intricacies of linguistic nationalism under the emerging political economic conditions of capitalism.
