Outline of Research at the Start

従来の国際教育政策を通して促進されてきた学習者中心型教授法が、国際教育協力分野で批判されて久しい。タンザニアとガーナは、学習者中心型教授法と共通理念を持つ教育思想を有し、かつ1990年代以後、同教授法を基軸に教育発展を試みてきた。本研究では、独立後の教授法改革過程における二国間比較を経て、半構造化インタビューと教室観察により、現地の教育関係者が価値をおく教授法を探究する。(a)現地由来の教授法、(b)外来の学習者中心型教授法、(c)現地適合性の高いオルタナティブ教授法、という三者間の共通性と相違性を考察する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本研究では、世界中で展開されている学習者中心型教授法(参加型・協調型学習など)の現地適合性を考察し、個々の文脈に応じた教育方法、「新教授法フレームワーク」の確立を目指す。本若手研究で比較対象としてきた東西アフリカ2か国(タンザニアとガーナ)に加え、2年目は、科研費国際共同研究強化(A)を通して中南米メキシコを比較軸に加えた。各国間および各大陸間で、「新教授法フレームワーク構築のためのアプローチ方法」の改変可能性・柔軟性を調べる。
2023年度は、研究代表者(坂田)が、メキシコにおけるデータ収集および、そのための共同研究をイギリスにて計半年間行ったため、タンザニアおよびガーナへの渡航がかなわなかった。メキシコ3県(モントレー、イダルゴ、チアパス)で計168名を対象とした聞き取り調査を終了し、主題分析を遂行中である。ガーナの研究者ら(Dr Hannah Edjah, Dr Abraham Okrah, Mr Eugene Henaku)とは、毎週オンライン研究会を開催し、リサーチデザイン、聞き取り調査の質問項目、倫理審査申請、現地研究者への調査方法研修を、共に行ってきた。2024年度初旬より、現地5県での聞き取り調査を開始するところである。また、タンザニア人研究者(Dr Haruni Machumu)ともオンラインで継続的に連絡を取り合い、倫理許可の取得後、1県(リンディ)でデータ収集を終えた。
これと並行して4つの国際学会で本研究の途中成果や関連研究を発表した。また、3本の査読付き国際共著論文を出版し、現在1本の査読付き論文が査読中である。

Reason

研究代表者のイギリス・メキシコ滞在(上記参照)により、タンザニア・ガーナへの渡航がかなわなかったが、これら2か国で共同研究者によるデータ収集体制を確立できたことにより、おおむね順調に調査を進めることができている。タンザニア・ガーナでの倫理審査取得に予定より時間がかかり、データ収集開始が当初計画より若干遅れたが、2024年度初旬には現地調査を終えられる予定である。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

2024年度中盤から後半にかけて、研究協力者らとデータ分析を行い、さらなる学会での共同発表、国際共著論文の執筆を行う予定である。
