Outline of Research at the Start

重力波観測で確認された中性子星-ブラックホール連星合体の量子シミュレーション実現に向け、実験の理論提案、および、数値シミュレーションからその妥当性を検証する。具体的には、冷却原子気体のボース・アインシュタイン凝縮体による遷音速ブラックホールを、中性子物質と類似するユニタリーフェルミ気体で実現させる。遷音速領域における量子ダイナミクスを明らかにし、実験が実現された暁に期待される現象の知見を示す。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

今年度は、昨年度に示した強く相互作用する量子多体系における界面を跨ぐ多体トンネル過程について応用的研究を行った。具体的には、斥力相互作用する2成分フェルミ気体やボース・フェルミ混合原子気体における2端子トンネル輸送を調べ、相互作用に誘起されたトンネル過程がそれぞれの系において重要な低エネルギー集団励起の輸送を引き起こすことを示した。前者では、斥力相互作用による強磁性相転移に付随したマグノン励起がスピントンネル輸送に大きな影響を与えることを示した。マグノントンネル輸送の兆候をつかむ方法としてスピンカレントノイズの測定提案も行った。一方、後者では、ボース粒子とフェルミ粒子の交換に関する対称性である超対称性の南部ゴールドストーンモードであるゴールドスティーノの効果が界面トンネル輸送に現れることを示し、現在論文を投稿中である。
また、中性子星と冷却原子気体を繋ぐ新たな方向性としてポーラロンの研究も行った。特に、中性子星内部において希薄中性子物質中の陽子は冷却原子気体で実現されるフェルミポーラロンとよく似ており、実際にフェルミポーラロンの実験で正当性が担保された理論を用いることで中性子物質中の陽子の性質を調べた。陽子のポーラロンエネルギーは原子核分野における重要テーマの一つである対称エネルギーに対応することを示し、陽子の有効質量が低密度領域で大きくなることを示した。陽子の質量増大は、1971年にBaym, Bethe, Pethickらに予言されていたが、今回冷却原子ポーラロンの理論により数値的にその事実を確認することができた。さらに、中性子物質の密度揺らぎを媒介とした誘導陽子間引力により、真空中では不安定なダイプロトンがバイポーラロンとして形成されることを予言した。

Reason

前年度で得られたトンネル輸送の理論の発展およびその応用に成功したほか、ポーラロン描像から中性子星と冷却原子気体の学際的理解が可能であることを示したことは、これらの系に共通する非平衡強相関現象の理解の進展に繋がるものと期待される。

Strategy for Future Research Activity

今後は、強相関フェルミ気体の輸送理論を軸に、中性子星やボースアインシュタイン凝縮体との連成ダイナミクスをより詳細に調べていく。また、随時中性子星物質の冷却原子気体の間の関連性を深めるべく量子混合気体の多体系の解析を進める。
