| Outline of Research at the Start |
本研究は、失われつつある近代の建築教育資料を対象に、これまでの歴史的な営みを整理し、教育資料の次世代への継承と新たな建築基礎教育手法の基盤構築を目指す研究である。
本研究では、近代日本の建築教育機関のひとつ、横浜高等工業学校で行われた「建築図画」と呼ばれた建築基礎教育に着目し、「建築図画」の写真資料のデジタル化による研究資源化を試みる。「建築図画」は近代に世界的な広がりをみせたフランス・パリのエコール・デ・ボザールの建築教育に由来するものと考えられており、同校で行われた建築構成要素を分析する特徴的な課題との関係を詳らかにし、過去の要素分析手法の学びから将来の建築基礎教育への応用可能性を提言する。

| Outline of Final Research Achievements |
In this study, a high-resolution digital archive of glass dry plates of student works from the "Architectural Drawings" architectural project conducted by the Department of Architecture at the Yokohama Higher Technical School, an architectural educational institution in the prewar period, was created, and a survey of original materials held by other institutions closely related to this archive was conducted. A database was constructed based on the digital archive, and an attempt was made to elucidate the historical activities of basic architectural education in modern Japan. This research realized the preservation of materials on fundamental education in architecture in Modern Japan.

横浜高等工業学校の中村順平の建築教育は、世界的に伝播した近代建築教育システムのモデル、エコール・デ・ボザールの教育を範として行われた。横浜の建築基礎教育の根幹をなす「建築図画」は、ボザール教育の日本化という取り組みで、ボザールの特徴的な課題「要素分析」は、各国の建築教育の基礎課程でも採用され、同種の修練が世界的に伝播した。中村は「建築図画」を設計演習以前の基礎課程と位置づけ、西洋建築のオーダーおよび日本の過去の建築を学生たちに描かせた。ボザール流の表現による日本建築描写は中村の建築教育でのみ発展を遂げており、他との比較の上で横浜の「建築図画」の整理は近代日本の建築基礎教育を知る上で重要である。
