Outline of Research at the Start |
認知症患者の急増や認知症の診断の遅れが社会問題化している。現在、認知症のスクリーニングには問診形式の認知機能検査(MMSE)などが行われているが検査に時間が掛かるなどの問題点があり、より簡便・低侵襲・低コストでの認知機能評価システムの確立が必須である。 申請者は、これまで視線検出技術と認知機能評価タスク映像を組み合わせ被験者の認知機能を評価するアイトラッキング式認知機能評価法を開発してきた。本研究では、アイトラッキング式認知機能評価法の軽度認知障害(MCI)の検出、認知症発症予測のシステムを構築する。

Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
認知症患者の急増による医療費の増大が世界的な社会問題となっている。認知症問題への対応として、早期診断と早期介入の重要性が指摘されている。しかしながら現状、認知症の有効なスクリーニング法が存在しないため、早期診断が困難な状況となっている。この課題を解決するため、申請者らは視線検出技術(アイトラッキング法)を利用した全く新しい認知機能評価法を独自に開発してきた(特許第6867715号:Oyama et al. Scientific Reports 2019)。視線動向の解析から被検者の認知機能を短時間で客観的にスコア化することができる画期的なシステムであり、従来の問診法による認知機能スコアと高い相関が得られることを既に確認している。 本研究では、このアイトラッキング式認知機能評価法の潜在的な有用性をさらに高める技術開発を行い、より早期の患者(軽度認知障害:Mild Cognitive Impairment(MCI))における認知機能の変化を高精度に捉えることが可能なシステムを構築する。また、申請者が所属する大阪精神医療センターにて実施している健常~MCIを主な対象としたもの忘れリスク外来において、本法の精度検証と有用性の実証を目指す。 本研究では主な開発要素を、A:アイトラッキング式認知機能評価法を用いた軽度認知障害(MCI)の診断能の評価、B:アイトラッキング式認知機能評価法による認知症発症予測(予後予測)の検証、C:AI機械学習を用いたMCI診断・予後予測アルゴリズムの開発、に分けて進めている。R4年度は主に、A~Cの基盤となる臨床データの収集をもの忘れリスク外来において実施し、約70症例のデータ収集を達成した。
