シェーグレン症候群(SS)においては近年非翻訳性リボ核酸であるlong noncoding RNA(lncRNA)がその病態に関与していることが示唆されている。本研究ではSS小唾液腺で高度に発現しているlncRNAを起点とし、関連するmicroRNA等の関連分子の発現増強及び減弱に関する機能解析を行い、臨床情報との統合的な解析を行うことで、SS特異的な治療標的を確立し創薬につなげることを目的とする。

| Outline of Annual Research Achievements |
今年度は新型コロナウイルス感染症収束後の診療に関する業務量の増加に伴い、実験遂行に支障をきたす状況が依然として続いていた。この状況を踏まえ、また シェーグレン症候群におけるlong noncoding RNAの関与の報告が近年増加してきている状況も鑑み、これまでの知見について文献検索を行って今後の研究遂行に役立てることを目指した。シェーグレン症候群とlong noncoding RNAについてデータベースを用いてウイルス感染、また研究代表者が過去に行っていたToll様受容体とシェーグレン症候群 との関連とも絡めた文献検索を行い、これに基づきウイルス感染、Toll様受容体、Ⅰ型インターフェロンやlong noncoding RNAを標的とした将来の治療展望に関する考察をまとめ総説論文として発表した(Horai, Yoshiro et al. “Current Views on Pathophysiology and Potential Therapeutic Targets in Sjoegren's Syndrome: A Review from the Perspective of Viral Infections, Toll-like Receptors, and Long-Noncoding RNAs.” Journal of clinical medicine vol. 12,18 5873. 10 Sep. 2023, doi:10.3390/jcm12185873)。
