Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements
In this study, we reported for the first time in the world the copy number alteration of glioblastoma by the MLPA method using cfDNA, and presented its usefulness as a new diagnostic method that is noninvasive and allows multiple-task analysis. We also introduced a new digital PCR system (QuantStudio Absolute Q) to improve the sensitivity of the method compared to the conventional method, because it is difficult to improve the sensitivity by amplifying cfDNA in spinal fluid, and confirmed the BRAF assay and established the assay for MYD88, and demonstrated the usefulness of the digitalPCR method for various targets. We demonstrated the possibility of brain tumor liquid biopsy using digitalPCR for various targets.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
