Outline of Research at the Start

網膜は網膜色素上皮と感覚網膜からなる層状の組織であり、オミックス解析の進歩により従来考えられてきた以上に複雑で繊細なことが明らかになってきている。申請者らは予備実験において、感覚網膜の一部で発現するとされてきた細胞マーカーを生体内で可視化するトランスジェニックマウスの作成に成功した。申請者がこのトランスジェニックマウスを用いて細胞系譜解析を行ったところ、既報とは異なる未知の発現パターンの存在が示唆された。そこで本研究ではこの現象を明らかとし、網膜疾患の新しい診断マーカーや治療法の開発を目指す。
