Outline of Research at the Start

先行研究で申請者は絨毛外栄養膜細胞(EVT)の表面に特異的に存在する胚シグナル分子が、浮遊培養下にspheroidを形成させたがん細胞株の細胞表面に発現することを発見した。一方でこの胚シグナル分子が新規の免疫作動分子であること、および血中のcirculating tumor cells (CTC)に発現していることを見いだした。そこで「浮遊相に変化したCSCが胚シグナル分子を発現し、宿主の免疫細胞に作用して自身の維持と転移に有利な環境を形成する」という新たな仮説を挙げ、胚シグナル分子を標的とした新しいCSCの解析法と治療法の開発を目指して本研究を計画した。
