Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では,(1) 天然反応帯の解析により,天然炭酸塩化における温度・圧力・流体組成を制約し,実効的な反応速度や流体供給速度を推定する.(2) アナログ物質実験により,反応速度や流体供給速度を系統的に変化させ,これらのパラメーターが反応誘起割れ・流体流動に与える影響を明らかにする.(3) 無次元数をもちいたモデル化により,天然およびアナログ実験を統一的に説明する炭酸塩化加速メカニズムを構築し,その加速化条件を提示する.以上より得られた知見をもとに天然のかんらん岩,蛇紋岩を炭酸塩化し,その反応加速条件を実証する.

Outline of Annual Research Achievements

本年度はバッチ試験により反応誘起破壊に成功するとともに,地化学計算および反応輸送モデル解析により,その力学応答の支配要因の解明をおこなった.また,アメリカカルフォルニア州のフランシスカン帯蛇紋岩における炭酸塩化反応の室内分析を実施した.
バッチ試験では昨年度に引き続きブルース石に富む蛇紋岩をCO2飽和水およびNaHCO3水溶液と反応させ,CO2飽和水では幅広い条件でブルース石の選択的な溶解とマグネサイトの試料表面への析出を確認した.一方でNaHCO3溶液では,ブルース石は反応フロントで選択的に溶解するものの,試料内部にマグネサイトが析出し,その析出により試料全体が膨張し破砕する様子が観察された.これらの実験条件における定常状態の溶液組成と反応速度を地化学計算および反応輸送モデルにより解析した結果,CO2飽和水に比べてNaHCO3溶液ではMgイオンの溶解度が3桁近く高いこと,定常状態における両溶液組成での反応速度はほぼ同じであることが分かった.これらのことから,CO2飽和水では反応速度と拡散速度がほぼ釣り合い,反応と同時にMgイオンが外部へと輸送されるために試料外面に析出がおこるのに対して,NaHCO3溶液では反応速度が拡散速度に比べ数桁速く,Mgイオンが外部へと輸送される前に試料内部に沈殿するために破壊が起こると解釈できることが明らかになった.
フランシスカン帯蛇紋岩の炭酸塩化反応の調査からは,炭酸塩化には岩相境界から発達するものと,地表から発達するものの2種類があることが明らかになった.岩相境界に関係する炭酸塩岩は,流体包有物の均質化温度が約160-200℃を示しており,炭酸塩化の進行した温度が160-200℃程度であったことが分かった.一方,地表から発達する炭酸塩化反応は,外気温程度の比較的低い温度で炭酸塩化進んでいることが推測され,今後さらに解析を進める予定である.

Reason

全く同一のサンプルがCO2飽和水とNaHCO3溶液の2種類の溶液に対して全く異なる挙動を示した実験結果と地化学モデリング・反応輸送解析に基づいて,反応速度と物質輸送速度の兼ね合いが炭酸塩化反応の力学挙動を支配しているとの作業仮説ができつつあり,鉱物炭酸塩化における反応誘起破壊の条件解明が進んでいるため.

Strategy for Future Research Activity

鉱物炭酸塩化における力学挙動の支配要因を,反応速度と物質輸送速度の視点から,既存の実験や数値計算,フィールドでの反応の産状を包括的に説明できるスケーリング則を確立する.また,DEMによる数値計算にも物質輸送を取り込むことで,上記のスケーリング則を検証する.天然の蛇紋岩の反応透水試験にも着手し,蛇紋岩での反応誘起破壊の条件を探索する.
