Outline of Research at the Start

水中に生息する細菌（バクテリア）は，今日最も多様な種で構成される超巨大生物群であり，水産業の骨格となる食物網・生元素循環を駆動している。本研究の目指すところは，現状ほとんど知見のない超微小サイズの海洋細菌を明らかにすることにある。超微細形状をそなえた細菌に関する新しい知見・実験技術を提示することで，当該生物の理解深化をはかり，水産科学の学術的発展への貢献を果たす。
