Outline of Research at the Start

Outline of Final Research Achievements

The aim of this study was to determine the dynamics and role of secondary metabolites, which are key to the plant's response to diverse abiotic stresses. By manipulating micro-organisms and phytophagous insects acting on the same plant individuals, we quantified how the secondary metabolites produced by plants are altered by these abiotic factors. We also quantified how interspecific interactions are altered by using plant mutants with different secondary metabolites produced as material.

Academic Significance and Societal Importance of the Research Achievements
