Outline of Research at the Start

本研究では、有効な治療法が確立されていないスポーツ筋腱損傷・障害への介入法開発の基礎となる知見を目指す。スポーツに伴う運動器疾患には、最善とされる治療を行っても機能障害の残存や再発リスクが高い肉離れに代表される外傷性骨格筋損傷や腱症などのオーバーユース障害が存在し、アスリートやスポーツ愛好家を苦しめている。共通点は組織治癒力の不足であり、生物学的アプローチによる治療への期待は非常に大きい。胎児中胚葉由来の幹細胞である臍帯組織由来細胞は骨格筋や腱と発生学的に近くまた、他家移植に適する性状が報告されている。細胞源又は液性因子分泌源としての作用を検証し、病態解明と介入法開発を目指す。
